Joan Lawson graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1976. After teaching art in secondary schools and for Glasgow University, she opened her own art studio in 1994 and continues to teach and paint from this location in Ayrshire.
She is a member of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists, exhibits in many galleries in the UK (including the RGI and the PAI) and has had several articles published in The Artist magazine.
